Little York is a small town located in Gibson Township, Washington County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. In 2010, about 192 people lived there.

History of Little York

Little York was officially planned and mapped out in 1831. Many of the first people who settled here came from the state of New York. That's why they chose the name "Little York."

The town had its own post office starting in 1837. Today, mail for Little York is delivered from Scottsburg, Indiana. The building where the old post office was located unfortunately burned down due to a kitchen fire in the store it was part of.
