Lodi is a lively city in northern Italy. It is located in the Lombardy Region. About 43,000 people live here. People from Lodi are called Lodigiani. The city is known for a special cake called Tortionata.
Lodi has a rich history. It was built after an old Roman city, Laus Pompeia, was destroyed. This happened during a war with the city of Milan.
The new city was built with help from a powerful German emperor. His name was Frederick I Barbarossa.
