Loe's Life and Rule
Early Life and Family
Loe was the son of Chief Kamaloohua and his wife, Kapu of Maui. This made him the grandson of Kuhimana. When his father's rule ended, Loe became the new chief of Maui.
His Time as King
During Loe's time as king, there were no wars between Maui and the other islands. This means his reign was mostly peaceful.
He married a woman named Wahaʻakuna. Her name is mentioned in old Hawaiian writings by Samuel Kamakau. Loe and Wahaʻakuna had a son named Kahokuohua. Their son later became a King of Molokaʻi island.
Loe's Legacy
Loe is seen as a very important ancestor for the chiefs of Maui. He helped start the main family line of rulers on the island. After Loe, his grandson, Kaulahea I, became the next ruler of Maui.
