Hiking and Exploring
Logan Pass is a popular starting point for hiking and backpacking trips. One of the most famous trails is the Highline Trail. This path goes north along the west side of the Continental Divide. You'll walk through an area called the Garden Wall. It's named this way because so many beautiful wildflowers grow there in the summer!
Winter and Weather
Just east of Logan Pass is a spot called Big Drift. This area often gets more than 100 feet (30 meters) of snow! Strong winds push a lot of this snow over the Continental Divide during winter.
Because of all the snow and the danger of avalanches, Logan Pass closes in winter. It's usually open from mid-to-late June until mid-October.
