London Lamar was born on December 29, 1990. She is an important American politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Since 2022, she has served in the Tennessee Senate. She represents District 33. Before that, she was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives from 2018 to 2022. She represented District 91. When she was in the House, she was the youngest State Representative in Tennessee. In March 2022, she was chosen to join the Tennessee Senate. This happened after the previous senator left office. London Lamar officially started her new role on March 8, 2022.

London Lamar grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. She went to Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. In 2013, she earned her college degree. She studied Political Science, which is about how governments work. She also studied Sociology and Intercultural Studies. These subjects help us understand people and different cultures.
Starting Her Political Journey
In 2018, London Lamar decided to run for office. She wanted to represent District 91 in the Tennessee House of Representatives. She won the first election, called the primary election. After that, no one ran against her in the main election. This meant she became the new representative.

London Lamar is now a senator for District 33 in Shelby County. Senators work to create and vote on laws for their state. They help make decisions that affect everyone.
