Long is a small community located in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, in the United States. History of Long, Oklahoma

The community of Long was named after a respected Cherokee leader named Peter Long.

Early Days and Post Office

Long had its own post office for many years. It opened on August 22, 1894. The first person in charge of the post office was William J. Webb. The post office served the community until April 15, 1937, when it closed down.
