Longrun is a small, quiet place in Ozark County, Missouri, in the United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.

Where is Longrun?
You can find Longrun about 5.7 miles (9.2 km) northwest of a place called Theodosia. It's also about 5.4 miles (8.7 km) southwest of Thornfield. Even though Longrun once had its own post office, mail for the area is now delivered from Theodosia.
A Glimpse into Longrun's Past
Longrun was first settled in 1898. When it was established, it had both a post office and a school. These buildings were located in Longrun Township, close to Longrun Creek. The post office served the community for many years, but it eventually closed down in 1980.
