History of Loon Mountain

Loon Mountain has had a few different owners over the years. In 1997, a company called Booth Creek Ski Holdings bought the resort. Later, in 2006, they sold it to CNL Lifestyle. However, Booth Creek continued to manage the resort's daily operations.

New Management and Growth

In 2007, another company called Boyne Resorts took over the job of running Loon Mountain. Boyne Resorts is a well-known company that manages many ski resorts.

Loon Mountain continued to grow and improve. In 2011, the resort added four new ski trails. They also greatly increased their snowmaking ability. They added 170 new snow guns, bringing the total to 600. This helps make sure there's plenty of snow for skiing, even when nature doesn't provide enough.

Recent Ownership Changes

In 2016, Loon Mountain was part of a group of resorts sold by CNL to a company called Och-Ziff Capital Management. Then, in March 2018, Boyne Resorts, the company that had been operating the resort, finally bought the ski area completely. This means Boyne Resorts now owns and operates Loon Mountain.
