Loop Head (which in Irish is Ceann Léime, meaning "leap head") is a beautiful piece of land in the west of Ireland. It sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean. You can find it in County Clare, on the northern side of where the River Shannon meets the sea.
Loop Head is famous for its tall lighthouse. On the other side of the Shannon, you'll see Kerry Head. The Shannon Foynes Port Company helps guide ships safely in and out of the Shannon river mouth.
The Loop Head area is almost like an island. It has the huge Atlantic Ocean on one side. On the other side is the wide Shannon Estuary. Only about a mile of land connects it to the rest of Ireland.
