Lorenzo's Past
Lorenzo has a simple but interesting history. It was once an important stop, or depot, on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. A depot was a place where trains would stop to pick up or drop off goods and passengers.
A post office was opened in Lorenzo in 1916. This allowed people in the area to send and receive mail. However, the post office closed its doors in 1933.
