Lorie Kane, born on December 19, 1964, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, is a talented professional golfer. She plays on the LPGA Tour, which is a top golf tour for women. Lorie joined the LPGA Tour in 1996.
Throughout her career, Lorie has won four big tournaments on the LPGA Tour. She also finished in the top 10 nearly 100 times! In 2000, she won the Bobbie Rosenfeld Award, which honors Canada's top female athlete. She also became a member of the Order of Canada in 2006. This is a very special award for Canadians who have made a big difference.
Lorie was the second Canadian woman to win more than one LPGA tournament in a single season. She achieved this amazing feat in 2000. Later, in 2015, she was honored by being inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. In 2020, Lorie was also inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, receiving the Order of Sport. She studied at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
