LPGA Takefuji Classic facts for kids

The LPGA Takefuji Classic was a big golf tournament for professional women golfers. It happened every year from 2000 to 2006. This tournament was part of the LPGA Tour, which is like the major league for women's golf. For the first few years (2000-2002), it was played in beautiful Hawaii. Later, from 2003 to 2006, it moved to the Las Vegas Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In August 2006, the LPGA decided not to continue the tournament for the next year. The people who organized the tournament shared a message saying they were sad it wouldn't continue. They thanked everyone who helped make it a success. The LPGA felt that Las Vegas was not the best place for the tour anymore. The very last tournament was held from April 10 to April 15, 2006.
