The hamlet of Lorraine is located in the southern part of Jefferson County, New York. It sits northeast of the very center of the town of Lorraine.
Natural Features
This community is found in a valley. This valley was formed by a stream called Big Brook. Lorraine is also on the northwestern edge of a special area known as the Tug Hill Plateau. A plateau is a large, flat area of land that is higher than the land around it.

Location and Travel
Lorraine is an important meeting point for several roads. These include County Routes 189, 93, and 92.
The hamlet is about 20 miles by road from Watertown. Watertown is the main city and county seat for Jefferson County. Lorraine is also about 5 miles southeast of the village of Adams. You can get to Adams by taking County Route 189.
