Anna Charlotte "Lotta" Engberg (born Pedersen; 5 March 1963) is a famous Swedish singer. She is well-known for her powerful voice and for performing in many different music styles. Lotta has been active in music since the 1980s.
She became very famous when she represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 1987. She won the Swedish competition, Melodifestivalen 1987, with her song "Boogaloo". Lotta has also tried to win Melodifestivalen many other times.
Besides her solo career, Lotta has been part of several music groups. These include "Trioala" and two popular dansbands (dance bands): Lotta & Anders Engbergs orkester and Lotta Engbergs. She has also worked with other famous artists like Christer Sjögren.

Lotta's Music Journey
Lotta Engberg started her music career when she was just 17 years old. Her first big appearance was on a Swedish TV show called "Nygammalt" in 1980. She also sang in an a cappella group called Trioala. An a cappella group sings without musical instruments. Later, she became a regular singer in the TV show's choir.
Singing with Anders Engberg
Lotta married Anders Engberg and started using his last name in her music. They formed a popular dansband together called Lotta & Anders Engbergs orkester. This band was active from 1989 to 1994. Lotta was the main singer for the group.
Awards for the Band
In 1994, Lotta & Anders Engbergs orkester won a special award called a Grammis. This award was for their album Kärlek gör mig tokig, which was named "Best Dansband of 1993". This album was very popular and reached number 33 on the Swedish album charts.
After Lotta and Anders divorced, Lotta left the band. She then started her own dansband called Lotta Engbergs. The other members of the old band formed a new group called Anders Engbergs.

Melodifestivalen and Eurovision
Lotta Engberg is well-known for her many attempts to win Melodifestivalen. This is the Swedish music competition that chooses the country's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Winning Melodifestivalen
Lotta won Melodifestivalen in 1987 with her song "Fyra bugg & en Coca Cola". For the Eurovision competition, the song's name was changed to "Boogaloo". She then represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 1987.
Other Melodifestivalen Attempts
Lotta tried to win Melodifestivalen several other times, but she did not make it to the Eurovision finals again.
- In Melodifestivalen 1984, she sang "Sankta Cecilia" with Göran Folkestad. They came in second place.
- In Melodifestivalen 1988, she sang "100%" with the group Triple & Touch. They finished third.
- In Melodifestivalen 1990, she returned as a solo artist with the song "En gång till", finishing eighth.
- In Melodifestivalen 1996, she sang "Juliette & Jonathan" and came in third place.
- In Melodifestivalen 2002, she was part of a supergroup called Kikki, Bettan & Lotta. They sang "Vem é dé du vill ha" and also finished third.
- In Melodifestivalen 2012, she teamed up with Christer Sjögren to sing "Don't Let Me Down". They came third in their semi-final and then third in the "second chance" round, just missing out on the final.
Kikki, Bettan & Lotta
Kikki, Bettan & Lotta was a special music group, sometimes called a "super trio". It included Lotta Engberg, Kikki Danielsson, and Elisabeth "Bettan" Andreassen. The group was active from 2001 to 2004 and included singers from both Sweden and Norway.
Television Shows
Lotta Engberg has also had a very successful career on television.
- She hosts a popular Swedish sing-along show called Lotta på Liseberg. On this show, people in the audience sing along to well-known songs.

Personal Life
Lotta Engberg was born in Överkalix, Sweden, but she grew up in a town called Laxå. She was married to Anders Engberg, but they divorced in 1994. Today, Lotta lives in Alingsås, Sweden.
