Ann-Kristin "Kikki" Danielsson was born on May 10, 1952. She is a famous Swedish singer. Kikki sings country, dansband, and pop music. She sometimes plays the accordion and has written songs too. Kikki is also known for her unique yodeling in some of her songs.
She became very popular in the Nordic countries from the late 1970s to the late 1990s. Kikki also gained fans in the US country music scene during the 1980s. In 1986, she even had her own TV show called "Kikki i Nashville."

Kikki's Early Life and Music Journey
Kikki Danielsson was born in Osby, Sweden. She lives in Gävleborg today. When she was five years old, Kikki was adopted and moved to a farm in Älmhult, Småland. She was the only child in her new family.
First Performances and Joining Bands
Kikki's first time singing in public was at age five. She sang a Christmas song at her local church's Sunday school party. As a child, she also sang in the church choir.
At 17, Kikki started her music career as a singer in a dansband called Nickies. In 1973, she joined another dansband, Wizex. With Wizex, she took part in the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen 1978.
Joining Chips and Solo Success
Kikki left Wizex in 1982. However, she was also a member of the pop and country group Chips. With Chips, she competed in Melodifestivalen in 1980, 1981, and 1982.
She has had many hit songs on the Swedish music charts, including her Melodifestivalen entries. Other popular songs include "Papaya Coconut" in 1987. Kikki loves to sing country music. She appeared on radio and TV shows in the US during the 1980s.
Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Appearances
Kikki Danielsson has competed many times in Melodifestivalen, which is Sweden's competition to choose a song for the Eurovision Song Contest. She has also competed once in Norway's similar competition, Melodi Grand Prix.
Eurovision Song Contest
Kikki has represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest twice:
- In 1982, she was part of the group Chips. They sang "Dag efter dag" and finished in 8th place.
- In 1985, she competed as a solo artist. Her song was "Bra vibrationer", and she finished in 3rd place.
Later Melodifestivalen Entries
In 2002, Kikki teamed up with Elisabeth Andreassen and Lotta Engberg. They called themselves Kikki, Bettan & Lotta. They competed in Melodifestivalen 2002 and finished in 3rd place. They also had their own dinner show and competed in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix in 2003.
Kikki returned to Melodifestivalen 2006 with the song "I dag & i morgon". She reached the final in the Stockholm Globe Arena. In 2018, she participated in Melodifestivalen again with the song "Osby Tennessee."
In February 2020, Kikki Danielsson was honored by being chosen for the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame.
Musical Collaborations and Albums
In the second half of 1984, Kikki married Swedish musician Kjell Roos. He led the dansband Roosarna. Kikki sang with Roosarna from 1990 to 1999. They had a daughter in 1985.
Christmas Albums and Awards
In late 1987, Kikki released a Christmas album called "Min barndoms jular". With Roosarna, she had many hit songs on the Svensktoppen charts during the 1990s. In 1994, Kikki Danielsson & Roosarna won the "dansband of the year" prize at the Grammis awards.
Kikki and Kjell Roos separated in 1999, but they started working together musically again in 2003.
Recent Projects
In January 2010, it was announced that Kikki Danielsson would record a song called Maybe I'll Do with Sören "Sulo" Karlsson and The Diamond Dogs. On July 13, 2010, she performed at Allsång på Skansen, a popular Swedish TV show. On April 13, 2011, she released the album Första dagen på resten av mitt liv, which she created with Sören "Sulo" Karlsson.
In 2012, Danielsson appeared in the film Sean Banan inuti Seanafrika. In 2017, she was part of the eighth season of Så mycket bättre on TV4.
