Louis Keith Collier, born on August 21, 1973, is an American who used to play professional baseball. He was known as a utility player, meaning he could play many different positions on the field.
Collier played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for several teams. These included the Pittsburgh Pirates, Milwaukee Brewers, Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies. He also played in the KBO League in South Korea for the LG Twins and Hanwha Eagles. The Pittsburgh Pirates chose him in the 31st round of the 1992 Major League Baseball draft. In 2023, he was a first base coach for the United States national baseball team.

Starting His Professional Career
In 1994, Lou Collier was named the most valuable player of the South Atlantic League's all-star game. He helped the teams linked to the National League win 9–5. During that game, he got three hits, including a home run.
Playing in Major League Baseball
Collier first reached the Major Leagues in 1997 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played with them for two years. After that, he joined the Milwaukee Brewers from 1999 to 2001. He then played for the Montreal Expos in 2002. In 2003, he was with the Boston Red Sox, and in 2004, he played for the Philadelphia Phillies.
In 1998, while with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Collier had some of his best career numbers. He played in 110 games, got 82 hits, scored 30 runs, and had 34 RBI (runs batted in). He also hit 13 doubles and 6 triples.
Time in Korea and Retirement
Overall, in 315 Major League games, Collier had a batting average of .241. He hit eight home runs and had 78 RBI. After playing two seasons with the LG Twins and Hanwha Eagles in the Korea Baseball Organization, he was invited to spring training by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2007.
On June 1, 2007, while playing for the Ottawa Lynx, Lou Collier announced he was retiring from professional baseball. In 2016, he was working as a scout for the Kansas City Royals in Chicago.

Lou Collier has a son named Cam Collier. Cam was also drafted into Major League Baseball. The Cincinnati Reds picked him 18th overall in the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.
