Cameron Keith Collier (born November 20, 2004) is a talented American professional baseball player. He plays as a third baseman and first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds organization. Before turning professional, he played college baseball for the Chipola Indians.

Cam Collier's Early Baseball Journey

Growing Up and High School Success

Cam Collier grew up in Austell, Georgia. He went to Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia. Even as a freshman, he showed great promise. He decided early on to play college baseball at Louisville.

During his sophomore year, Cam was an amazing hitter. He had a .434 batting average. This means he got a hit almost half the times he went up to bat! He also hit 13 home runs and brought in 40 runs for his team. Plus, he was fast, stealing 19 bases. After this great season, he played in a special showcase for top young players.

Making a Big Jump: Reclassifying for College

Originally, Cam was expected to be one of the best players in the 2023 Major League Baseball draft. But after his sophomore year, he made a big decision. He earned his General Educational Development (GED) diploma. This allowed him to finish high school early. He then changed his graduation year to 2022. This is called "reclassifying."

After reclassifying, Cam enrolled at Chipola College in Marianna, Florida. He was quickly recognized as a top player. He was even put on the watchlist for the Golden Spikes Award. This award goes to the best amateur baseball player in the United States. In his freshman season, Cam continued to shine. He batted .333, hit eight home runs, and had 47 RBIs. After his college season in 2022, he played summer baseball. He joined the Cotuit Kettleers in the famous Cape Cod Baseball League.

Joining the Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds were very impressed with Cam Collier. They chose him in the first round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft. He was the 18th player picked overall! On July 25, 2022, Cam signed a contract with the Reds for $5 million.

He started his professional career with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League Reds. In 2023, Cam played for the Single-A Daytona Tortugas. He played in 111 games that year. He hit .246 with six home runs and 68 RBIs.

Recent Highlights and Challenges

Cam Collier was chosen to play in the 2024 All-Star Futures Game. This is a special game for baseball's top young prospects. He hit a home run in the game and was named the most valuable player!

In 2024, he played 119 games for the High-A Dayton Dragons. He continued to show his power, hitting 20 home runs and driving in 74 runs. His batting average was .248.

In March 2025, Cam had a setback. He tore a ligament in his left thumb. This injury required surgery. He was expected to miss about 4-6 weeks while recovering.

After his recovery, on June 17, 2025, Cam was promoted! He moved up to the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. This was an exciting step in his journey through the minor leagues.
