Louis Marquel Roe, born on July 14, 1972, is an American former professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and in Spain's top league, Liga ACB. He was also a highly recognized college player at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass).

Lou Roe's College Basketball Journey
Lou Roe played college basketball for the UMass Minutemen. He was a standout player there. In 1995, he was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He was also chosen as a second-team All-American, which means he was one of the best college players in the country.
Lou Roe's Professional Career
Starting in the NBA
Lou Roe was picked by the Detroit Pistons in the 1995 NBA Draft. He was the 30th player chosen overall. He played for two NBA teams: the Pistons and the Golden State Warriors. During his time in the NBA, he played in 66 games and scored a total of 130 points.
Playing Around the World
After his time in the NBA, Lou Roe continued his basketball career overseas. He played professionally in many different countries. These included Spain, Italy, South Korea, Mexico, and Argentina. He also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) in the United States.
Life After Playing Basketball
After retiring from playing, Lou Roe stayed involved with basketball. He worked with his old college team, the UMass Minutemen. He helped in an administrative role, assisting his former teammate and coach, Derek Kellogg. In January 2021, Lou Roe became the head coach for the Putnam Vocational Technical Academy in Springfield, Massachusetts.

- He was named the Spanish League MVP in 2001. This means he was the best player in Spain's top basketball league that year.
- He was also the Spanish League Top Scorer twice, in 2004 and 2006. This shows he was a great scorer.
- In college, his jersey number 15 was retired by UMass Minutemen. This is a special honor given to very important players.
