Lourdes Pérez (born Bernardita de Lourdes Pérez Cruz on February 12, 1961) is a talented singer, songwriter, and poet from Puerto Rico. She is also a composer, arranger, and guitarist. Lourdes is known for her deep, rich voice, called a contralto. She is also one of the few women who write décima, a special type of Spanish poetry.
Her music is often compared to soulful world music styles. It is sometimes called "opera of the people." Her songs celebrate her Puerto Rican roots and the traditions of Latin America.

Lourdes Pérez was born in Hato Arriba, San Sebastián, Puerto Rico. Many people consider her one of the best Latin American female singers and songwriters. She has performed with many famous artists.
