Lower South Bay, often called South Bay, is a small community in Oneida County, New York. It is known as a hamlet, which is a type of small settlement. This area is located right on the southwest edge of Oneida Lake in the United States.
What is a Hamlet?
A hamlet is a very small community. It is usually smaller than a village. Hamlets do not have their own local government. They are part of a larger town or county. Lower South Bay is an example of such a community.
Where is Lower South Bay?
Lower South Bay sits on the southwest side of Oneida Lake. This lake is a large and important body of water in New York. The hamlet is directly across the lake from another place called North Bay. It is also quite close to the town of Cicero. Cicero is about two miles to the west.
