Loy Stephen Vaught, born on February 27, 1968, is a former American professional basketball player. He played for ten seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), mostly with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Loy Vaught's Early Life and College Career
Loy Vaught grew up in Kentwood, Michigan. He went to East Kentwood High School. After high school, he played college basketball for the University of Michigan Wolverines. He helped his team win the 1989 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. This was a huge achievement for his college team.
Loy Vaught's NBA Journey
Loy Vaught was chosen in the 1990 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. He quickly became a strong player for the team. In the mid-1990s, he was known as one of the most reliable forwards in the league. He often scored around 16 points and grabbed about 10 rebounds per game. He was also very durable, missing only four games between 1994 and 1997.
Memorable Games and Achievements
Loy Vaught had some amazing games during his time with the Clippers.
- On April 22, 1994, he scored 29 points and got 11 rebounds in a game against the Suns.
- On February 9, 1995, he had his best scoring game ever, with 33 points. He also grabbed 13 rebounds against the Houston Rockets, who were the champions at the time.
- On December 16, 1996, he showed his rebounding skills by getting 21 rebounds, along with 17 points, in a close win over the Suns.
In the 1996-1997 season, Loy Vaught helped lead the Clippers to the playoffs. They were the 8th seed and faced the Utah Jazz, led by NBA MVP Karl Malone. The Jazz won the series, but it was a great effort from Vaught and his team.
Later Career and Rebounding Skills
After 1997, Loy Vaught faced some injuries. These injuries made it harder for him to play as much. He never played more than 51 games in a season after that. He finished his career playing for the Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, and Washington Wizards.
Loy Vaught was known for being an excellent rebounder. He was especially good at getting defensive rebounds. He finished among the top ten rebounders in the league twice during his career.
