Loy Stephen Vaught (born February 27, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for ten seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Most of his career was spent with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Loy Vaught was a strong player known for his rebounding skills. He played as a Power forward. Over his career, he scored 6,984 points, grabbed 4,881 rebounds, and made 652 assists.

Early Life and College Success
Loy Vaught grew up in Kentwood, Michigan. He went to East Kentwood High School. After high school, he played college basketball for the University of Michigan Wolverines.
In 1989, Loy helped his team win a huge championship. They became the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Champions. This was a major achievement for him and his team.
NBA Career Highlights
Loy Vaught was chosen by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1990 NBA Draft. He was the 13th player picked overall. For a few years in the mid-1990s, Loy was one of the best forwards in the league.
Clippers Star Player
Between 1994 and 1997, Loy was a very consistent player. He averaged about 16 points and 10 rebounds per game. He rarely missed games during this time.
He had some amazing games:
- On April 22, 1994, he scored 29 points and got 11 rebounds against the Suns.
- On February 9, 1995, he scored a career-high 33 points. He also grabbed 13 rebounds against the defending champion Houston Rockets.
- On December 16, 1996, he had 17 points and an impressive 21 rebounds. This helped his team win a close game against the Suns.
In the 1996–97 season, Loy led the Clippers to the playoffs. They were the 8th seed but were swept by NBA MVP Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz.
Later Career and Rebounding Skills
After 1997, Loy faced some injuries. These injuries made it harder for him to play as much. He never played more than 51 games in a season after that.
He finished his career playing for a few other teams. These included the Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks, and Washington Wizards.
Loy Vaught was known for being an excellent rebounder. He was especially good at getting defensive rebounds. He finished in the top ten for overall and defensive rebounds twice during his career.
