Lucainena de las Torres is a small town, also called a municipality, in the Almería province of Spain. It's part of a region called Andalusia. This town is so pretty that it's even part of a special group called "The Most Beautiful Villages of Spain"!

This town is located in the northern part of the Sierra Alhamilla mountains. It sits about 550 meters (1,800 feet) above sea level. Imagine being high up, looking down at the world!
The area around Lucainena de las Torres is surrounded by beautiful natural places. These include the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, Sorbas, and Sierra Cabrera. If you travel from the city of Almería, it's about 53 kilometers (33 miles) away. You'd drive along the N340 road, which goes past the famous Tabernas desert. Many well-known Western movies have been filmed there!
The town covers an area of 124 square kilometers (about 48 square miles). Around 600 people live here today. Most of them still work in farming. In 1998, Lucainena de las Torres won first prize for being one of the most beautiful villages. It also has a stunning baroque church from the 1700s, which is definitely worth seeing.

Like many towns, the number of people living in Lucainena de las Torres has changed a lot over the years. In the early 1900s, the population grew quite a bit, reaching over 4,000 people by 1920. However, after that, the population slowly decreased for many decades. By the late 1990s, it was around 500-600 people. In recent years, the population has stayed fairly stable, with about 595 people living there in 2022.
