Lucerne is a small community in Lake County, California, United States. It used to be called Clear Lake Beach. The native Eastern Pomo people called this area Sikom.

Lucerne is located about 7 miles (12 km) east of Lakeport. It sits at an elevation of 1,329 feet (405 meters) above sea level. In 2010, about 3,067 people lived here.

Lucerne's Early Days: 1871

In 1919, a researcher named Edward W. Gifford learned about the old village of Sikom. This was the name the Eastern Pomo people used for the area where Lucerne is now.

He gathered information from Jim Pumpkin, who remembered details about the village. Sikom had 20 houses. Most of these houses were home to two or even four families. In total, 235 people lived in Sikom in 1871.
