Lucy Kennedy is a well-known Irish television and radio presenter. She is also a popular author of children's books. Lucy was born on April 21, 1976. She became famous for hosting shows like The Podge and Rodge Show and Livin' with Lucy.

Early Life and First Jobs
Lucy Kennedy grew up in Sandycove, a lovely area in Dublin, Ireland. She was the middle child in a family with three girls. Her father, John Kennedy, later joined her on her own TV show as her pianist.
Lucy went to Holy Child Killiney for secondary school. Before becoming a TV star, she worked as a flight attendant for Cityjet. After that, she studied television presenting and production. In 2002, she helped find contestants for an Irish TV show called The Weakest Link. She also worked behind the scenes on other TV shows.
Becoming a Television Star
Lucy Kennedy started presenting TV shows in 2004. She hosted two series of a show called The Ex-Files. In 2006, she was asked to co-host The Podge and Rodge Show. She stayed with the show for three series.
In 2007, Lucy appeared on many other TV programs. She even won an award for Female Personality of the Year.
Livin' with Lucy
From April to May 2008, Lucy had her own show called Livin' with Lucy. The idea of the show was that Lucy would live with famous people for a weekend. She stayed with celebrities like Brian McFadden and Calum Best. The show was very popular and aired on RTÉ2. During one episode, when she stayed with British TV personality Jade Goody, photographers and reporters followed them everywhere.
Other TV Shows
Lucy Kennedy also filled in as a host for The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show in July 2008. There was talk that she might host the travel series No Frontiers, but that did not happen.
Her own chat show, The Lucy Kennedy Show, started in January 2009. Her father, John, played the piano on the show. In August 2009, she co-presented Charity Lords of the Ring with Barry McGuigan. After this, she took time off to have a baby. She started filming the third series of Livin' with Lucy in July 2010.
In September 2013, Lucy began co-hosting Late Lunch Live with Martin King. This show later became The Seven O'Clock Show in 2015. It is now known as The Six O'Clock Show and airs on Virgin Media One.
In August 2017, it was announced that Lucy would host Ireland's Got Talent. She hosted two series of this talent show until it ended in 2019.
Radio Presenter
Lucy Kennedy has also had a successful career in radio. She worked with Bazil Ashmawy on RTÉ 2fm.
In May 2010, she co-presented a morning show with Colm Hayes for a month. Later, in April 2018, Lucy and Colm Hayes started a new breakfast show together on Radio Nova 100FM (Ireland). It is called The Colm and Lucy Breakfast Show.
Children's Book Author
Lucy Kennedy is also a talented author for young readers. She started her "The Friendship Fairies" book series in 2020. She has published five books in this series so far. Each book is illustrated by Phillip Cullen.
Personal Life
Lucy Kennedy is married to Richard Governey. They have three children, two daughters and one son. She balances her career and family life, much like another famous Irish media personality, Miriam O'Callaghan.
