Luis Guzmán (born August 28, 1956) is a talented actor from Puerto Rico. He has been acting for over 40 years! You might know him from many movies and TV shows. He has worked with famous directors like Paul Thomas Anderson and Steven Soderbergh. Some of his well-known roles include movies like Boogie Nights (1997) and Punch-Drunk Love (2002). He was also in Out of Sight (1998) and Traffic (2000).
On TV, Luis Guzmán played Raoul Hernandez in the prison drama Oz (1998–2000). He was also José Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha in Narcos (2015). Later, he played Jesse "Mama" Salander in the medical show Code Black (2015–2018). More recently, he became well-known for playing Gomez Addams in the popular series Wednesday (2022–present).

Early Life and Beginnings
Luis Guzmán was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico. He grew up in New York City in areas like Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side. His mom, Rosa, worked at a hospital, and his stepfather, Benjamin Cardona, fixed TVs.
Luis went to Seward Park High School. After graduating from The American University, he started his career helping people as a social worker. At the same time, he also acted in plays on the street and in independent films. This helped him get started in acting.

Luis Guzmán has been in many movies. Some of his film roles include Carlito's Way, Punch-Drunk Love, and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. He also lent his voice to the character Ricardo Diaz in the video games Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
On television, he appeared in shows like Homicide: Life on the Street, Frasier, and Oz. He even played himself in an episode of Community. In 2003, he starred in his own TV comedy show called Luis. He also appeared as a commentator on VH1's "I Love the '80s" and other similar shows.
In 2010, Luis Guzmán starred in the HBO series How to Make It in America. He also appeared in some funny Snickers commercials that played during the Super Bowl.
Personal Life and Community Work
Luis Guzmán lives in Cabot, Vermont. He cares about his community.
In 2018, Luis Guzmán teamed up with former New York Yankees baseball star Bernie Williams. They appeared on a TV show called Bar Rescue. They helped a tavern and a community center in Loiza, Puerto Rico, after Hurricane Maria caused a lot of damage. Luis Guzmán often speaks about important issues in Puerto Rico.
