Luke Bailey (born March 7, 1984) is a British actor, writer, director, and musician from Essex. He is well-known for playing Sam Bateman in the popular medical TV show Casualty. He also played school student Marley Kelly in Waterloo Road. Both shows were on BBC One.

Luke Bailey's Acting Career
Television Roles
Luke Bailey started his acting journey on Channel 4 in a show called The Illustrated Mum. This show was based on a book by Jacqueline Wilson. After that, he joined the CBBC show UGetMe in 2003. He starred as the main character, Joe, and appeared in 49 episodes over three seasons.
From 2004 to 2007, Luke appeared many times in the BBC medical drama Casualty. He played Sam Bateman, who was the son of nurse manager Tess Bateman (Suzanne Packer). He was in 109 episodes. Luke had actually been on Casualty before in 2002, playing a small role as a young child named Ben. He returned to Casualty for one episode in 2015 when Tess left the show.
In Waterloo Road, Luke Bailey played a student named Marley Kelly. Marley was seven years younger than Luke was at the time.
In 2009, Luke also appeared in an episode of the BBC One show Moving On. He played Zach, the son of Sylvie (Lesley Sharp).
Reality TV Shows
In January 2007, Luke Bailey took part in a BBC One singing competition called Just the Two of Us. In this show, famous people teamed up with professional singers. Luke sang with Natasha Hamilton from the band Atomic Kitten.
Later that year, in October, he tried something different. He appeared on Sky One's Cirque de Celebrité, where he learned circus skills. In 2009, Luke also competed in Total Wipeout on Boxing Day and won the show!
Theatre Performances
Luke Bailey toured the UK in a musical called 20th Century Boy. This musical was inspired by the life of Marc Bolan, a famous musician. Luke played the character of Rolan, who was Marc Bolan's son.
In 2013, Luke also wrote and directed a play called Dissociation. It was performed at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester and was liked by many people.
Music Career
Luke Bailey is also a talented songwriter and musician. He has played in several bands. He played bass guitar in a rock band from Liverpool called Televaters. He also sang for a blues-rock band from Manchester called Velvet Slow Dogs. In October 2021, Luke's band, Small Black Arrows, released their first music collection, an EP called 'The Wave'. It received good reviews.
