Suzanne Packer, born Suzanne Jackson on November 26, 1962, is a talented Welsh actress. She is best known for playing Tess Bateman in the BBC medical drama Casualty. She was on the show from September 2003 to August 2015. She even came back for special anniversary episodes in 2016. After Casualty, Suzanne has appeared in other TV shows like Bang, In My Skin, and The Pembrokeshire Murders.

Suzanne Packer's Early Life
Suzanne Packer grew up in Wales. Her parents moved there from Jamaica and Panama. Her mother worked as a nurse in Abergavenny. Suzanne is the older sister of famous hurdler Colin Jackson.
While at Llanedeyrn High School in Cardiff, Suzanne loved acting. She played the main roles in school plays such as Oklahoma and The King and I. She joined the National Youth Theatre of Wales. Later, she studied theatre and drama at the University of Warwick. She also trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Before becoming a full-time actress, Suzanne taught drama for a short time. She decided to follow her dream of acting instead of teaching.
Suzanne Packer's Acting Career
In 1991, Suzanne helped start BiBi Crew. This was Britain's first comedy theatre group made up only of Black women.
She got an audition for the BBC drama Casualty. She was chosen to play Tess Bateman. Her first appearance was in September 2003. Suzanne announced she was leaving Casualty on August 22, 2015. She had played Tess for over 11 years.
Suzanne and her brother Colin appeared on the TV show Pointless Celebrities in 2011. They were out in the first round. In 2018, she started playing Nurse Digby in the BBC Three series In My Skin. On November 4, 2018, Suzanne played Eve Cicero in the Doctor Who episode, "The Tsuranga Conundrum". In 2021, she starred in the ITV miniseries The Pembrokeshire Murders.
Suzanne Packer's Personal Life
Suzanne Packer met American actor Jesse Newman while on a trip in Europe. They later got married and had a son together. The couple eventually divorced.
