Luo Ronghuan (simplified Chinese: 罗荣桓; traditional Chinese: 羅榮桓; pinyin: Luó Rónghuán; Wade–Giles: Lo Jung-huan) was an important Chinese military leader. He was born on November 26, 1902, and passed away on December 16, 1963. He played a key role in the Communist Party of China and was later made a Marshal of the People's Republic of China. He also served as a Vice Chair of the National People's Congress.

Life of Luo Ronghuan
Early Life and Education
Luo Ronghuan was born in a small village in Hengshan County, which is in Hunan Province, China. When he was 17, in 1919, he went to Xiejun Middle School in Changsha.
A few years later, in 1924, he started studying at Shandong University. He took a special course focused on industry and business.
Joining the Revolution
Luo Ronghuan became part of the Communist Youth League in April 1927. Later that same year, he joined the Communist Party of China. This was a time of big changes in China.
During the famous Long March, Luo Ronghuan was in charge of security for the Chinese Red Army. This was a very long and difficult journey for the army.
Military Leadership
After World War II, Luo Ronghuan continued his important work. He served as a political commissar alongside another famous leader, Lin Biao. They worked together in Northeast China during the Chinese Civil War.
When the People's Republic of China was formed in 1949, Luo Ronghuan became the Chief of Staff for the People's Liberation Army. This was a very high position. In 1955, he was given the special title of Marshal.
Later Years and Legacy
Luo Ronghuan passed away in 1963. His funeral was attended by very important leaders, including Mao Zedong and Lin Biao. This showed how respected and important he was to the country.
