Lutak is a small community in Haines Borough, Alaska, United States. Its name in the Lingít is Lḵoot. Lutak is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area defined by the U.S. Census Bureau for counting people, but it doesn't have its own city government. In 2020, only 29 people lived in Lutak.

Lutak is found in the northern part of Haines Borough. It is located at about 59 degrees North and 135 degrees West. The community is built around the Lutak Inlet, which is a part of the larger Chilkoot Inlet.

To the south, Lutak is next to the community of Haines. The Ferebee River forms its eastern border. To the west, you'll find the tall Takshanuk Mountains. The area also includes the valley of the Chilkoot River and the beautiful Chilkoot Lake.

Getting Around Lutak

There is one main road, called Lutak Road. It stretches for about 10 miles (16 kilometers). This road connects the mouth of Chilkoot Lake to Haines. It runs along the south side of Lutak Inlet and the west side of Chilkoot Inlet.
