Luther is a small town in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, United States. It is part of the larger Oklahoma City area. In 2020, about 1,492 people lived there.
The town of Luther was started by a man named Charles Gasham "Gristmill" Jones. He bought and sold the land that became the town. Luther was named after his son from his first marriage.

Getting Around Luther
Luther is located northeast of Oklahoma City. It is on Oklahoma State Highway 66, which used to be part of the famous U.S. Route 66.
In 1953, the Turner Turnpike opened. This new highway allowed people to travel faster between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Because of this, Luther was not on the main route anymore.
However, in 2011, a new highway exit opened near Luther. This exit connects Luther to I-35. It makes it easier for people to travel between Luther and Oklahoma City.
