A Look Back in Time
Luther wasn't always called Luther! It was first known as Linley. The community got its first post office on March 12, 1902. Walter R. Linley was the first person in charge of the post office.
The name of the community officially changed to "Luther" on March 4, 1907. After the name change, Grace R. Luther became the new postmaster. The post office in Luther closed on July 22, 1983. Now, mail service for Luther comes from the nearby town of Red Lodge.
