Luís Mesquita de Oliveira (born March 29, 1911) was a famous Brazilian football player. People often called him Luisinho. He played as a forward and was known for his amazing skills on the field.
Luisinho was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was one of eight children in his family. His brother, Carlos, also played football for a short time before becoming a doctor.
Football Career
Luisinho played for several important football clubs in Brazil. He started his career in 1930 with São Paulo. He played there until 1934.
After a short time with Estudantes in 1935, he joined Palmeiras in 1936. He stayed with Palmeiras until 1940. Then, he returned to São Paulo in 1941 and played there until 1946.
Playing for Brazil
Luisinho was also a key player for the Brazilian national team. He played for his country from 1934 to 1938.
He represented Brazil in two FIFA World Cup tournaments. He was part of the Brazilian squad for the 1934 FIFA World Cup and the 1938 FIFA World Cup. These were big events where countries competed to be the best in the world at football.
Life Outside Football
Beyond his football career, Luisinho had another important job. He was a lawyer for many years. He worked for the government of São Paulo.
