Lyriq Bent is a talented actor from Jamaica and Canada. He is famous for his roles in the Saw horror movies, the TV show Rookie Blue, and the miniseries The Book of Negroes. You might also know him as Jamie Overstreet from the Netflix series She's Gotta Have It.

Lyriq Bent was born in Kingston, Jamaica. When he was six years old, his family moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is where he grew up and later started his acting journey.
Acting Career Highlights
Lyriq Bent began his acting career in the early 2000s. He quickly started getting important roles in both movies and TV shows.
Before becoming a main actor in the TV show Angela's Eyes, he appeared in other popular series. He was a guest star on Kevin Hill and Kojak. After these roles, Playback Magazine recognized him as one of Canada's exciting new actors.
Starring in the Saw Films
Lyriq Bent gained a lot of attention for his roles in the Saw horror film series. He played Officer Daniel Rigg in Saw II and Saw III. Later, he became one of the main characters in Saw IV.
Popular TV Roles
From 2010 to 2014, Lyriq Bent was a co-star in the Canadian TV series Rookie Blue. In this show, he played Staff Sergeant Frank Best, a police officer.
In 2015, he took on the role of Chekura Tiano in the TV miniseries The Book of Negroes. This series was based on a very popular novel. For his amazing performance in this role, Lyriq Bent won the Best Actor award at the 2016 4th Canadian Screen Awards.
More recently, in 2022, he was nominated for another Canadian Screen Award. This nomination was for his lead role in the web series For the Record.
