The M876 is an important motorway in Scotland. It is located near the towns of Stirling and Falkirk. This road helps connect two other major motorways: the M80 and the M9. These connections are just north of Falkirk.
The M876 continues its path towards the Kincardine Bridge and Clackmannanshire Bridge. At this point, the motorway ends. The road then becomes the A876 and A985. The M876 motorway is about 8 miles (13 km) long. It was opened in 1980.
Connecting Motorways
The M876 motorway is quite short. However, it plays a key role in connecting other major roads. It helps drivers travel between different parts of Scotland.
M80 Motorway Connection
The M876 starts by connecting to the M80 motorway. This connection is at Junction 8 of the M80. If you are heading west on the M876, you can join the M80 towards Glasgow or Cumbernauld.
M9 Motorway Connections
The M876 also links up with the M9. There are two main connections with the M9.
- At M9 Junction 8, the M876 connects to the M9 towards Stirling.
- At M9 Junction 7, the M876 connects to the M9 towards Edinburgh and Grangemouth.
These links make it easier for people to travel across central Scotland.
