MOMA Machynlleth is an exciting arts centre and gallery in Machynlleth, Powys, Wales. It's right next to a historic building called Y Tabernacl (The Tabernacle).

The Tabernacle used to be a Wesleyan chapel, a type of church. In the mid-1980s, it was changed into a place for performing arts, like music and plays. Since then, MOMA Machynlleth has grown next to it. Today, the museum has six different rooms where art is shown.

About MOMA Machynlleth

MOMA Machynlleth started its journey in 1986. Back then, it was known as MOMA Wales. It began as part of Y Tabernacl, which was a new performing arts center. This idea came from a businessman named Andrew Lambert.

In 1994, the center grew even more. New art galleries were added. They also built a recording studio and a language lab. In 2016, the museum received special recognition from the Welsh Government. At that time, its name officially changed to MOMA Machynlleth.
