Maarn is a charming town in the Netherlands. It is part of the municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug. This town is located in the Dutch province of Utrecht. Maarn is about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) east of Zeist.
In 2001, Maarn had about 4,071 people living there. The town's built-up area was 1.26 square kilometers. It included 1,793 homes. Until 2006, Maarn was its own municipality. This meant it was a self-governing area. It included both Maarn and its neighbor, Maarsbergen.
Maarn is a small town in the middle of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. This area is a special nature reserve in the Netherlands. The town and its surroundings have about 8,000 people. Maarn has a small town center. It is very popular for tourism. Many campsites are located around the town.
Discovering Maarn's Past
Maarn was built in 1921. It was created for workers. These workers dug sand for the Dutch Railways. In 2003, the municipality was updated. It was renovated to meet new standards.
