Maartje Yvonne Helene Paumen, born on September 19, 1985, is a famous former field hockey player from the Netherlands. She was known for her powerful shots and amazing goal-scoring ability. Maartje played for the Dutch national team and helped them win many important championships. After her playing career, she became an assistant coach for a Dutch club called MOP.

Maartje Paumen: A Hockey Legend

Maartje Paumen is one of the most successful field hockey players ever. She played for several Dutch clubs like Oranje Zwart and HC Den Bosch. She also played for a Belgian club, Royal Antwerp. Her skills quickly made her stand out, leading to her selection for the national team.

Olympic Glory

Maartje Paumen is famous for her success at the Olympic Games.

  • At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, she won a gold medal with the Dutch team. They beat China 2–0 in the final match.
  • The team won another gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. They defeated Argentina 2–0 in the final. Maartje scored one of the goals, making her the top Olympic scorer in field hockey history with 14 goals.
  • In the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she won a silver medal. Her team lost to Great Britain in a penalty shootout.
