Maasdriel is a municipality in the Gelderland province of the Netherlands. A municipality is like a local government area. It includes several towns and villages.
Maasdriel was created on January 1, 1999. This happened when several smaller municipalities joined together. These included Ammerzoden, Hedel, Heerewaarden, and Rossum. The area that was called "Driel" before 1944 became part of the new Maasdriel.
