History of Macclesfield

Macclesfield started around 1900 or 1901. A businessman named Henry Clark Bridgers from Tarboro, North Carolina created The Macclesfield Company. This company bought land near the East Carolina Railway tracks. They built many buildings and warehouses there.

A historic place called Bracebridge Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. This register lists important historical sites in the United States.
