Macclesfield is a small town in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, USA. It is part of the larger Rocky Mount area. In 2020, about 413 people lived there.
History of Macclesfield
Macclesfield started around 1900 or 1901. A businessman named Henry Clark Bridgers from Tarboro, North Carolina created The Macclesfield Company. This company bought land near the East Carolina Railway tracks. They built many buildings and warehouses there.
A historic place called Bracebridge Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. This register lists important historical sites in the United States.
