Madeleine Lauren Humphries (born May 20, 1988) is a French-Filipino actress and model. For many years, she was known by her stage name, Carla Humphries. She is best known for her roles in popular TV shows like Bituing Walang Ningning and Abt Ur Luv.
Madeleine was a member of Star Magic, a group of talented actors from the ABS-CBN network, from 2003 to 2009. In 2013, she starred in the action movie 10,000 Hours with actor Robin Padilla. Her performance in the film earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Early Life and Family
Madeleine Lauren Humphries was born in San Francisco, California. Her mother is Filipina, and her father is French-American. She is the second of four children. Her older brother, Alec, was also born in the United States. Her younger siblings, Nicolas and Samantha, were born in France and the Philippines.
Acting Career
How It All Started
Madeleine's journey into acting began when she was just 11 years old. In 1999, a director named Johnny Manahan saw her perform at her school. He was in charge of the ABS-CBN Talent Center, which is now called Star Magic. He invited her to join acting classes.
For two years, Madeleine took workshops in acting, singing, and other skills. In May 2003, she was officially introduced as a member of Star Circle Batch 11, a group of new young actors.
First Roles on TV and in Movies
After joining Star Magic, Madeleine started appearing in different shows on the ABS-CBN network. Her first regular role was in the teen show Berks in 2003. She played a fashion model named Paris.
In 2004, she acted in her first movie, My First Romance. She played a friend to the main character, who was played by Heart Evangelista. That same year, she was also in the TV series Sarah the Teen Princess, where she played a rival to Sarah Geronimo's character.
In 2005, Madeleine joined a reality TV show called Qpids. On the show, she was paired with actor Janus del Prado. They became the "Voter's Choice" because they received the most votes from viewers.
Becoming a Star
In 2006, Madeleine's career grew even more. She acted in an episode of the drama show Maalaala Mo Kaya, and many people praised her performance.
She then got a major role as "Rita Arguelles" in the popular TV series Bituing Walang Ningning. The show, which also starred Sarah Geronimo, was a big hit. During this time, a shampoo commercial featuring Madeleine also started airing in the Philippines.
That same year, she appeared in two successful movies, D' Lucky Ones and First Day High. She was also one of the main characters in the teen show Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv, which started in November 2006. The show was very popular and won an award for Best Youth Oriented Program in 2007.
More Serious Roles
In 2008, Madeleine took on a more grown-up role in the action-drama series Palos. She played a doctor who was also the daughter of the President of the Philippines. This was a big change from the teen roles she had played before.
Later, she acted in the movie Smaller and Smaller Circles, based on a popular crime novel. In 2019, she appeared in a short film for Greenpeace Philippines called Before We Disappear. This was the first time she was credited with her birth name, Madeleine Humphries.
Personal Life
Education
Madeleine attended French schools before switching to the ABS-CBN Distance Learning Center in Manila to finish high school. This allowed her to continue her acting career while studying.
She later studied fine arts for a year at the University of Santo Tomas. She then moved to the Centre for International Education (CIE) to study business. She also earned a certificate in Jewelry Design from the Gemology Institute of America (GIA) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Hobbies and Interests
Madeleine loves music and art. She has been painting since she was eight years old. She enjoys painting abstract art and landscapes. She once said, "I have always loved drawing and was always best in drawing in school."
