Muflihi, also known as the Muflihi Sheikhdom, was a small state that existed in the British Aden Protectorate. This protectorate was a group of states under British protection.
The last leader of Muflihi, called a sheikh, was Kassim Abdulrahaman Al-Muflihi. He was removed from power in 1967. This happened when the People's Republic of South Yemen was formed. Today, the area that was once Muflihi is part of the country of Yemen.
History of Muflihi
Muflihi started as one of five smaller states within a larger region called Upper Yafa. Later, Muflihi joined a group of states known as the Federation of South Arabia. It became a separate state within this federation.
Most members of the Al Muflahi family still live in Yemen. However, some family members moved to other countries in the early 1960s. They settled in places like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar. More recently, many have also moved to Western countries. These include the United Kingdom, especially in areas like Birmingham, and the United States of America, mainly around the Metro Detroit area.
Leaders of Muflihi
The leaders of Muflihi were called sheikhs. Here is a list of some of the sheikhs who ruled Muflihi:
