Saving the Moonlands: The Story

Three thousand years ago, a powerful villain named Agram, a Shadow Magi, was trapped deep inside the Moonlands' Core. He was sealed away by the Core Glyph and special Dreamstones that gave it power. Now, Agram wants to break free! He uses his Shadow Geysers to weaken his prison. His goal is to take over all the Moonlands.

Only a special Magi, known as the "Final Dreamer," can stop him. A young boy from Earth, Tony Jones, is brought to the Moonlands. Many believe he is this prophesied Final Dreamer. Tony teams up with Edyn, an apprentice Magi, and Strag, a Shadow Stalker. Their mission is to find all the Dreamstones before Agram escapes.

Using a magical Book of Elders, the three friends travel across the Moonlands. They fight against Agram's evil forces. Along the way, they collect many different Dream Creatures from the lands they visit. These creatures help them in their adventures.

Main Characters and Their Friends

Our Heroes

  • Anthony "Tony" Jones (voiced by Lyon Smith) is a 14-year-old boy from Earth. He was brought to the Moonlands by a special ring from his grandfather. Tony starts out unsure about being a hero. But he soon accepts the Moonlands as his new home and his friends as family. He trains hard and becomes a skilled warrior. Tony also has a crush on Trup'tika, a girl from the ocean realm. His main Dream Creature is Furok (voiced by Alan Park), a mysterious bear-like creature who is his best friend.
  • Edyn (voiced by Martha MacIsaac) is a 14-year-old girl from the forests of Naroom. She lives with her guardian, Orwin. Edyn is Tony's other best friend and always supports him. She knows a lot about the Moonlands' books and is an expert at magic spells. Edyn is brave, caring, and organized. Her main Dream Creature is Ugger (voiced by Joseph Motiki), a plant-based creature with a horn like a rhinoceros.
  • Strag (voiced by Dan Petronijevic) is a 14-year-old from the Underneath. He trained as a Shadow Stalker to get rid of the evil Shadow Magi. Strag is one of the Final Dreamers, just like Tony and Edyn. He can use his special "Moon senses" to help them on their adventures. Even though he fights Shadow Magi, Strag is related to the first Shadow Magi, Agram. He mostly uses special relics and his turtle-like Dream Creature, Freep (voiced by Rick Miller).

The Villains

  • Agram (voiced by Martin Roach) is the powerful leader of the Shadow Magi. He was sealed away 3,000 years ago. He uses Shadow Geysers to weaken his prison. In the first season, he escaped but was trapped again. In the second season, he returned by taking over the body of one of his Dream Creatures, Gorath.
  • Korg and Zed (voiced by Alex Karzis and Rory O'Shea) are Agram's main helpers. They are evil but sometimes clumsy Shadow Magi. They use many evil Dream Creatures given to them by Agram. Later, other Shadow Magi like Chur, Ashio, and Warrada join them.

Other Important Characters

  • Orwin (voiced by Rick Miller) is the Elder of Vash Naroom and Edyn's guardian. He is a strong Magi and a mentor to Tony, Edyn, and Strag. Orwin was briefly turned into a Shadow Magi but was later returned to normal.
  • Evu (voiced by Julie Lemieux) is a wise old woman from Vash Naroom. She helped bring Tony to the Moonlands. She often helps Tony, Edyn, and Strag on their quests. Evu is a wise sage and shows great power despite her age.
  • Ashio (voiced by Rick Miller) is a Shadow Magi sent to destroy the Moonland of Paradwyn.
  • Trup'tika (voiced by Helen King) is a teenage mermaid girl from the realm of Orothe. She has long red-pink hair, pointed ears, and gills. She can change her legs into a tail to swim very fast. Trup'tika has a crush on Tony. She admires Tony for his bravery in trying to save the Moonlands.

Dream Creatures

Dream Creatures are amazing beings that live in the Moonlands and come from the Dream Plane. When a Magi earns the trust of a Dream Creature or defeats it in battle, they get an Animite crystal. This crystal lets them summon that Dream Creature from the Dream Plane whenever they need it, using some of their own energy. If a Dream Creature is defeated, it simply goes back to the Dream Plane. It can be summoned again if the Magi has enough energy. Even corrupted Core Creatures become pure again temporarily when they are in the Dream Plane.

Guardian Hyrens

The Guardian Hyrens are very special Dream Creatures. They are a type of Hyren, which often look like dragons. Each Guardian Hyren protects a specific Moonland and its important Dreamstone. To get a Guardian Hyren's Dreamstone, a Magi must pass a test. This test checks if the Magi is worthy and has good character.
