Maja Ostaszewska (born on September 3, 1972) is a famous Polish actress. She first appeared on screen in 1993 in the historical drama film Schindler's List. Later, she played a main role in the film The Haven (1998). For this role, she won the Polish Film Festival Award for Best Actress.
She won her second Polish Film Festival Award for Best Actress for the film Prymas – trzy lata z tysiąca (2000). Maja Ostaszewska has acted in over 30 movies. She has been nominated six times for the Polish Academy Award for Best Actress. She won this award twice: for Jack Strong (2014) and Body (2015).
Ostaszewska has also starred in many other films. These include Katyn (2007), In the Name Of (2013), and Never Gonna Snow Again (2020). More recently, she appeared in The In-Laws (2021) and its sequel, Broad Peak (2022), Green Border (2023), and Colors of Evil: Red (2024).

Early Life and Acting Career
Maja Ostaszewska was born in Kraków, Poland. Her father, Jacek Ostaszewski, is a Polish musician. Maja was raised following the Buddhist faith.
She began her acting training in Kraków. In 1996, she graduated from the PWST. While still training in 1993, she had a small part in Steven Spielberg's film Schindler's List. After graduating, she mostly performed at the Teatr Rozmaitości in Warsaw. There, she worked with well-known Polish directors. Her first stage role in Warsaw was Rosalinde in William Shakespeare's As You Like It (1996).
Film and Television Success
In 1998, Maja Ostaszewska played the main character in the drama film The Haven. She won the Best Actress Award at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia for this role. She received her second Polish Film Festival Award for Best Actress for Prymas – trzy lata z tysiąca (2000). She was also nominated for her first Polish Academy Award for Best Actress for this film. She later received the Paszport Polityki Award for her film work.
On television, Ostaszewska starred in the drama series Removals in 2001. She was also a regular cast member in the medical drama series Na dobre i na złe from 2003 to 2008. In 2008, she appeared in the first season of the war drama series Days of Honor. She then joined the comedy-drama Recipe For Life (2011–2013) and the medical drama Diagnosis (2017–2019). Personal Life
Maja Ostaszewska is in a relationship with Polish cinematographer Michał Englert. They have two children together: a son named Franciszek (born in 2007) and a daughter named Janina (born in 2009). Maja Ostaszewska is a vegetarian and practices Buddhism. She is also known for supporting the LGBT community.
