Mallard Lake is a freshwater lake located in the Hunter's Creek area of south Orange County, Florida. It's not a natural lake; people created it by digging out the land. This type of lake is called "manmade" or "dredged."
Before the lake was built, some of the land was swampy, and other parts were dry. Maps that show the shape of the land, called topographical maps, confirm this. Mallard Lake was created in the early 1990s. Its main purpose was to serve two new neighborhoods in Hunter's Creek.
