Mallory is a small community in Logan County, West Virginia. It's a special kind of place called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a community that the government counts for population, but it's not officially a city or town.
In 2010, about 1,654 people lived in Mallory. The area includes several smaller communities. These are places like Huff Junction, Mallory itself, Davin, and Mineral City. You can also find Claypool, Combs Addition, and Gillman Bottom here.
The community got its name from the Mallory Coal Company. This company used to operate in the area.

Where is Mallory Located?
Mallory is in the southern part of Logan County. It's located along Huff Creek and West Virginia Route 10. You can find its exact spot using these coordinates: 37°43′49″N 81°50′9″W / 37.73028°N 81.83583°W.
The community is about 3 miles (5 km) southeast of the town of Man. It's also about 16 miles (26 km) southeast of Logan. Logan is the main town and county seat for the area. If you travel northwest on Route 10, Mallory is about 16 miles (26 km) from Oceana.
Land and Water in Mallory
The United States Census Bureau says that Mallory covers a total area of about 4.4 square miles (11.4 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a small part, about 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometers), is water. This means about 1.11% of Mallory's total area is water.
Huff Creek flows through Mallory. This creek is part of the larger Guyandotte River watershed. A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into a common river. The Guyandotte River flows north and eventually joins the Ohio River. This happens near Huntington, West Virginia.
