Malung is a small place in Roseau County, in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town does.
The Story of Malung
Malung was named after a town in Malung, Sweden. Many people from Sweden came to live in this part of Minnesota a long time ago. They wanted to remember their home country.
A post office opened in Malung in 1895. This was a very important place for people to send and receive letters. The post office served the community for many years, until it closed in 1954.
