History of Manley
Manley was founded in 1883. This happened when the Missouri Pacific Railroad extended its tracks to this spot. Before its current name, it was sometimes called "Summit." The name "Manley" likely came from a local cattle rancher. The village officially became an incorporated village in 1954. This means it gained its own local government.
