Mannar District (Tamil: மன்னார் மாவட்டம் Maṉṉār Māvaṭṭam; Sinhala: මන්නාරම දිස්ත්‍රික්කය) is one of the 25 districts in Sri Lanka. Districts are like big areas that help manage the country. Geography of Mannar District

Mannar District is found in the north-western part of Sri Lanka. It is part of the Northern Province. The total area of the district is about 1,996 square kilometers (771 square miles). This area includes both land and water. About 1,880 square kilometers is land, and 116 square kilometers is water.

The district is known for its flat landscape. It also has a long coastline. This makes it a great place for fishing and for seeing different types of birds.
