Mansfield Road Baptist Church is a special church for Baptists in Nottingham, England. It is part of a bigger group called the Baptist Union of Great Britain.

The Church's Story

The story of Mansfield Road Baptist Church began in 1849. At that time, some members of another church, Stoney Street Baptist Church, decided to form their own group.

Building a New Home

They built a new church building, called a chapel, on Milton Street. This new chapel opened its doors in 1851. In 1863, a minister named Samuel Cox joined them. He was also a busy writer and journalist.

In 1901, another church group, from Broad Street Baptist Church, joined with them.

Moving to a New Location

In 1912, the church moved to its current location. A brand new church building was built for them. It stands on the corner of Gregory Boulevard and Sherwood Rise. The old Milton Street chapel was sold. It later became a lecture hall for the Nottingham Mechanics' Institution.

The Church Organ

The church has a large pipe organ. It was put in place in 1913 by a company called Norman and Beard. You can find more details about this organ on the National Pipe Organ Register.
