Emmanuel "Manu" Feildel (born March 26, 1974) is a famous French-Australian chef and television star. He is best known as a judge on the popular cooking competition show, My Kitchen Rules.

Manu first became well-known as the head chef at the restaurant Bilson's. Later, in 2009, he opened his own restaurant called Manu at L'Étoile. The restaurant closed in 2014.

From the Circus to the Kitchen

Manu Feildel grew up in a family of professional chefs, including his dad and grandfather. But when he was 13, he decided to join a circus school! There, he learned fun skills like juggling, riding a unicycle, and being a clown.

After three years, Manu realized that cooking was his true passion. He moved to London and studied at the famous Cafe Royal restaurant. He worked at several other restaurants in London, becoming an expert in cooking seafood.

Career as a Chef and TV Star

Moving to Australia

In 1999, Manu moved to Australia. He worked as the head chef at a restaurant called Bilson's. He cooked modern French cuisine and helped the restaurant become very successful. Food lovers knew him for his amazing cooking at this top-rated restaurant.

Becoming a TV Personality

Manu's television career began in 2006 on the show Ready Steady Cook. In 2009, he appeared on MasterChef Australia. Since 2010, he has been a co-host and judge on My Kitchen Rules, which made him a household name in Australia.

In 2011, Manu showed off his other talents by winning the TV show Dancing with the Stars! That same year, he was nominated for a Logie Award for Most Popular New Male Talent.

Over the years, Manu has hosted and appeared on many other shows.

Helping the Community

Manu uses his fame to help others and support important causes.

In March 2013, he hiked the famous Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. This trek was to raise money for CanTeen, an Australian charity that helps young people affected by cancer.

He is also an ambassador for Camp Quality. This charity helps children with cancer and their families, using the motto "laughter is the best medicine."

Supporting Cancer Research

Manu works with the ANZUP Cancer Trials Group to raise awareness for certain types of cancer. In 2019, he cooked unique-looking dishes for their "Rude Food" campaign to get people talking about health.

In 2020, he became an official Below the Belt Ambassador for the group. He rode his bicycle 854 kilometers and raised almost $1,000 for cancer research. When he returned to Dancing with the Stars in 2021, he chose ANZUP as his charity to support.

Personal Life

Manu was with his former partner, Veronica, for 12 years, and they have a son named Jonti.

In 2018, Manu married Clarissa Weerasena. They have a daughter named Charlee, who was born in 2015. Clarissa is also a talented cook and appears on the TV show Better Homes and Gardens.
